The AQUA-TEK 4000 Reverse Osmosis Water Filter produces high quality purified water by a membrane separation process. The reverse osmosis process separates suspended and dissolved solids to waste and produces high purity water. Water from the AQUA-TEK 4000 will look and taste great!
Reverse osmosis purification includes reduction of salts (chlorides etc.), metals, hardness, chemicals, chlorine, turbidity and taste /odour.
The purifier is a total system with all components supplied; RO unit, pre and post filters, storage tank and dispensing faucet. An automatic shut off valve conveniently shuts down the incoming water when the tank is full. The tank holds approx. 12 litres of water and the Purifier produces 150 litres per day- application dependent.
ALL our systems use the Highest Quality QMP US housings, standard size 10 inch (9 ¾" (248mm)and meet Australian Standards AS 3497 also NSF certified (worlds leading certification authority) NSF/ANSI standard 042 certification.
What does it remove?
This system will efficiently and effectively remove impurities in the water including rust, dirt and scale as well as chlorine, and most chemicals, herbicides and pesticides and harmful bacteria such as Crytosporidium and Giardia.
1st stage removes sediment such as dirt and rust.
2nd stage filters chemicals and odours out of the water supply.
3rd Stage removes heavy metals and FLUORIDE.
FLUORIDE is only removed thru REVERSE OSMOSIS PURIFICATION.
How do they work?
First, water passes through a 1 micron sediment cartridge, which removes large particles like silt, sand, rust, dirt, etc.
Second, the water passes through a carbon 1 micron cartridge that removes chlorine, some pesticides, herbicides and toxic chemicals.
Thirdly, water is forced through the Filmtec membrane. This filters down to a molecular level (1/10,000/micron). Any water that doesn’t filter through the membrane is impure water and is dumped down the drain. The filtered water is then stored in the supplied pressurized tank.
Finally, when you turn on the tap, the filtered water passes through a final carbon filter to provide the best pure water.

How often do I need to replace cartridges and membranes?
- Micro sediment cartridges should be changed as needed (typically after 12 months).
- Carbon cartridges must be changed every 12 months.
- Post inline filter should be replaced every 12 months.
- Filmtec membranes should be replaced every 3 to 5 years depending on use.
Why does Filter Wizard use Thin Film Composite (TFC) membranes?
We use TFC membranes (FILMTEC) rather than Cellulose Triacetate (CTA) membranes because they are simply more durable, being made of a plastic-like rather than a paper-like material. People using CTAs spend more money in the long run because they need to buy replacement membranes typically every 1 to 3 years, whereas TFC membranes will typically last 3 to 5 years.
